I took Cole trick or treating for the first time this year. He was a cowboy. Well, David took him to a couple of houses first while I fed a fussy teething James. David said he did great. Said his trick or treat then said thank you. He also figured out why we just don't the kids we used to. Just about everyone but us and 2 other houses had lights on on our street. We had a grand total of 4 trick or treaters. We used to get in the 20's. My inlaws had 12 at their end of the neighborhood so i loaded the boys up and went down there. They watched James since he was still on the fussy side. so Cole and i walked and found houses with lights on. Not too many these days. Several people had us take hand fulls of candy since there wasn't any one coming around. I had a couple people ask if there was any one out there. I said no. Not too many. But we hit quite a few houses though. I asked Cole if he like trick or treating, he said yes, all day long. I think most kids would agree! He walked his little legs off. The weather was great. Very warm for Halloween. So anyone know where the trick or treaters have gone? Is it just our neighborhood or is this happening every where? is Halloween just going away? I know things have changed since i was a kid and neighborhoods crawled with kids on Halloween. the whole sex offender list probably has a lot to do with it. We probably had just as many in our neighborhoods but we just didn't know about them before the list. Next year i may try the new neighborhood that went up behind us. Maybe that's where everyone is since it's more lit up. We'll see what happens next year.
