I'm One Talented Lady!

Last week, Tuesday afternoon. Getting close to going home time so was feeling the crunch to get things done. I reach into one of my many file folders to pull out a sheet. Well i must have been a bit too aggressive and yanked to hard. The corner of it got between my glasses and went right down the center of my eye. A paper cut to they eye!!! I sat for e few moments and let my eye tear. It teared a lot. My vision was blurry and it was really starting to hurt and i couldn't open it. I decided i better say something to me supervisor since it happened at work. I told her and kind of laughed as i did it since i couldn't believe i could do that with glasses on. We got some eye drops from the first aid box. It felt like when you get an eye lash in your eye but a bit worse. I flushed my eyes and it didn't help. She called HR and they said i had to get it looked at since i was the second person in 10 years to do that and the last person did paper cut there eye. Hey, at least i wasn't the first. Luckily i need to just go up the road to the hospital. Not eve a mile so that was nice since i had to drive with one eye closed. not sure why everyone seemed to think it was OK for me to drive like this but what's done is done. I got there at 4:20 and they close at 5:00. Felt bad but oh well. I had to go to occupational health therapy. Had to fill out miles of paper with one good eye and with my eyes it's actually my bad eye. I didn't have to wait long. The dr was VERY nice. Put a blessed numbing drop in my eye. Said yep i cut it good. Had me do a vision test with the cut eye. Couldn't even read the giant letter on the first line. They called down the the eye dr and they wanted me to come in the next morning. The Dr i saw then tells me he is going to give me a prescription for Vicodin!! I was shocked! Yea it hurt but hard pain killers! Jeez. I did take one and it just made me super tired. I did take it after David got home so if i was all dopey i wasn't alone with the kids I just laid around when i got home with my eye closed, well as much as the boys would let me. Thankfully they were pretty mellow. Unusual. The dr recommended i not work until i see the eye dr in the morning. Ok. No problem taking a day off work. Wednesday i saw the eye dr. Again a VERY nice dr. My mother in law drove me in case they put me in a patch. He dilated me eyes so it was a good thing someone drove me. The looked at my eye and he said i cut it pretty well, right down the black part of my eye but the surface had already started to close up. Eye injuries heal quickly. He dilated my cut eye to stay dilated for 24 hours. The dilation really helped ease the pain as well. He put me on antibiotic drops and artificial tears. Then wanted me back Friday and i got to take Thursday off as well. All Workman's comp too. Thursday my eye finally quit hurting but was still blurry. James took a 3 hour nap Thursday so i laid on the couch an slept off and on while Cole watched shows. Friday i went to work and it was tough reading my computer monitor. Took forever to get anything done. Glad i got off early for my appt. He said my eye was healing well and had pretty well closed up. Gave me another drop for the blurriness. Said it was still a little inflamed and this drop will help speed things along. I use that for 10 days then got back to the eye dr on the 8th. My vision is still blurry but seems to be getting better, slowly. Hoping by the end of the week it's all better. Also hoping i didn't do any permanent damage.
