We had a nice weekend. David went and did his bird count thing for the Oregon Fish and Game. He did it last year with on of his friends so they volunteered to do it again. They count Sage Grouse in a given location. And freeze their butts off! The water froze, coffee pot froze, David had every article of clothing on he packed and was in his 0 degree sleeping bag. They were in a tent because the guy told them they wouldn’t be able to tow a camper in, the road was too bad. Well when they got there, the dirt road in was very nice. There was an abandoned ranch and that must have kept the dirt road up. Sunday when they went to leave, truck battery was dead. They had to hook up the 4 wheelers to it and run them for an hour to charge it up. Then when he got home, he heard the tire hissing and it was going flat. Eggs broke all over the cooler, nice slimy mess.
The Boys and I had a better weekend. Saturday Judy took us out to dinner to On the Border. Very yummy. Sunday we hung around the house. I raked up all the sticks in the front yard that blew out of the tree. I’m always surprised we have a tree left from all the sticks that come out of it. I pulled some weeds and got my flower beds some what cleaned up. They look better and I have lots coming back! Even ones that are supposed to be for one year. Some are on their 3rd year! Damn I’m good and I don’t even try! I have some seeds started in the house in some planters. Got tomatoes going, marigolds and a wild flower mix. Oh and sunflowers. We plan on doing a garden this year too. I’ll keep you posted on that one!
