Cowboy Cole

Satruday we went to my parents to help lay hard wood floor. Well, david did, i just kinda supervised. Hehe! On the way there we asked Cole if he was going to ride a horse. He said yes. Ever since he turned 4 we've been telling him al the things he can do since he's 4 now. Mainly to get him to try things. One of them was riding a horse. My mom has been wanting to get him on a horse since birth i think. So we asked him several times, are you going to ride a horse? Yea cuz i'm 4, is what he would say. My mom had to work so when she got home we told her he wanted to ride a horse. Of course she was excited. Had some lunch, went out and got the horse for him to ride, got her brushed down and saddled up. Cole helped. He was kind of quiet at this time. Him being just like me i knew why. He was having second thoughts about this whole horse thing. We went in to get jackets since it was a little windy. My dad was using and air compressor for the nailer to put the flooring in. The air compressor kicked on, Cole started crying. I knew it wasn't the air compressor. He didn't want to go out and get on the horse. I asked him if he wanted to go out, he sobbed, no. I got him calmed down and we went out and watched my mom ride the horse around to warm her up. i had Cole watch and finally got him convinced that we can try him just sitting on her ( the horse, not my mom). My mom brought the horse around and asked him if he was ready. He said yes. My mom said let's try him by himself on the saddle. I said ok all the while picturing my son falling to the ground. Not that i didn't trust my mom, trusted her completely. Still that's my kid on a horse. My mom put him up there and he was good with that. Then she started walking the horse around the pasture. He did great!! I was and still am so very proud of him for trying. I went to get my camera, turned it on, battery to low for live view. Perfect. So i got my moms. While i was getting it, the horse shook, my mom turned expecting to see him fall and he just rode it out. I did take a few pics with my mom's camera and i am waiting on her to email them to me. I'll post them as soon as i get them! He rode for a few minutes then was ready to get off. I gave him the biggest hug and told him how very proud i was of him for being a big boy.
