Another busy weekend!

We had a pretty busy weekend. First it started with meeting some friends I haven’t seen in months at Home Depot to do the free kids project they do the first Saturday of each month. It was a great activity for a rainy Saturday morning and something I think we will try to do each month, when I remember. Cole was all excited to do it until we got there. Then he saw all the people, wasn’t that many really. He did his shy thing. He got a little orange Home Depot apron that he refused to wear. He stood and stared at the ground so I started getting the stuff out of the kit to see what we had. I started working on it and talked to him as I did it. He warmed up after a few minutes. He handed me nails and helped me hold things. Our friends showed up and did their project with us. We got see their new baby girl for the first time and they got to see James for the first time. Our completed project was a little wooden Wheel Barrow and a little plastic flower pot. He has a seedling from day care we will plant in it. He did pick out a pretty and a little pricey purple plant too. We got it any way. I’ll take pics of it in the next couple of days. Papa wasn’t at work yet so we went to have lunch. We were going to go to McDonalds since cole had his heart set on chicken nuggets and they were just across the parking lot. We got there a little before 11:00. I go to order a happy meal and she says oh we still have 15 min til lunch. I got irritated and told her that was dumb and left in a huff. I was a little PMSy and had two squirming kids. We went down the road to Jack in The Box where you can get anything any time of day. Had our lunch and went back to HD and saw Papa. That’s when we got the purple flower so we could go through his line and say hi. Finally make it home. David was replacing the door to our laundry room that had a hole it. He had the washer out and I cleaned under it. A while back we had some liquid laundry soap that fell on the floor and the lid came off. By the time I got in there, soap all over the floor and under the washer. For a year it’s still been coming out. Now we finally got it all cleaned up. He cleaned the washer too. He moved the dryer out that’s when I opened my big mouth and said I always wanted to paint in here. So we decided since it was all cleared out we’d spruce it up. It was pretty bad before. It also the passage way to the garage so it’s just always been an afterthought. We just shut the door and ignore it. It had awful striped paper on one wall and some ugly pealing floor linoleum up the wall behind the washer and dryer. David pealed that off and put white bead board up and panted the rest of the walls white. I am painting the ugly cabinet hanging over the washer and dryer a light blue left over from the boys room. Hoping to make it less ugly. David made a false wall to cover the water heater and furnace. David got 2 coats of white paint on the walls and it looks so much better, Still needs one more coat I think. It was rainy so it took forever for the paint to dry. We worked on it a little Sunday but Cole gave us a great cough and we both had coughed so much we hurt. So after while we ended up on the couches. Hopefully we can get this finished up soon since I still don’t have my washer and dryer hooked up. Pics to follow soon.
