David left Friday after work to head to the hills to hunt for deer and elk. Hopefully we will get both! So it is just me and the boys for the week til this coming Sunday the 26th. We are surviving! No tantrums by anyone really, me included! Mornings are OK. I'm up at 6, then James to eat and dress, then watch mommy finish up. Then on to Cole. He's been pretty good the past couple of mornings. Usually he's quite the bear. Much like his mom. See mom, i got one "just like me"!! Don't all parents wish that? I already do for Cole! I am even making it to work on time! Miracles can happen. Friday after work i got my hair cut. It was quite long and annoying. It is back up to my shoulders where i like it with some layering. She used a razor instead of scissors. never had that done before. Felt weird! Like someone hacking at my hair with a machete! It turned out nice. She put my bangs to the side like the style is, side swoop bangs i think it's called. She said i should wear them that way. I can't get it to work. I can never do what they do to my hair. I am not hair savvy. They charged an extra $3 to dry my hair so i went home with wet! That is just crazy! It's hot air! I really like it though and have had several compliments. I feel like a huge curtain has been lifted.
Saturday we went with David's Parents to a Fall Festival at a local church. They were invited to bring a car for a vintage car section. It was a lot of fun! They had a nice dinner of taco salad fixings. All kinds of activities. A big bonfire even thought it was quite warm for October but as soon as the sun started to go down it cooled right off. All they asked was for a $5 donation. Here comes the fun part, they had an inflatable 30 foot slide for the kids, and adults i suppose! Cole wanted to go down it so we waited in line and finally it was our turn. The guy suggested i carry hi9m up it. Umm, yea. So i carried a 30lb child up pretty much an inflatable ramp in my socks! They had something in there like dowels under the fabric for some traction. It was very interesting carrying him up wobbling all over. But the fun part was going down with him. I informed him though i was not doing that again! James had hit his limit by that point and it was time to head home. We'd been there for a couple of hours so he did great! He enjoyed riding like a big boy in his stroller looking around. Cole crashed once we got home. He ran up and down a hill they had and climbed all over hay bales. He did very well running with other kids that were there. Usually he hides under my shirt. Literally. Took him some time but he did it. Oh we did have to visit the potty several hundred times and they were the little outhouses. Two people just don't fit well in there. He does that everywhere we go though. I just remembered i still have his popcorn in the van....
Sunday we went and visited my parents and had a nice time. James had a great time visiting with his Nana and Papa. Cole always has a good time. He did mommy's old job at the grocery store of keeping the list for papa. He loves doing little jobs and i always forget that he can. Had some very tasty ice cream called Campfire Conundrums. Tasted like s'mores! It's always nice to go home for a visit. I don't get to see them as often as I'd like.
That was a busy weekend!
